Five Minute Videogame Review: Two Point Campus School Spirits DLC (PS5 Edition)

I do have what promises to be a very long, very in-depth videogame review coming soon of the hotly debated and much talked about Hogwarts Legacy. Until then, though, I'm popping in here with a quick review of the latest DLC for Two Point Campus, a game I reviewed not too long ago. This will only be a short review but don't worry, like I said, I have a full videogame review coming very soon.

Two Point Campus are actually putting out DLC a lot quicker than I anticipated. The base game launched in August 2022 and was quickly followed by Two Point Campus Space Academy DLC in December 2022. Space Academy was a substantial bit of DLC too, offering three new campuses, a range of new achievements/trophies, and just a lot more content. Two Point Studios followed all of this up with Two Point Campus School Spirits, released in March 2023 and promising a 'spooky makeover.'

Coming in at £5.49 ($5.99), School Spirits DLC was a little cheaper than Space Academy which I think retailed at £8.99 on release. It's not hard to see why. School Spirits only offers one new campus, three new achievements/trophies, and a fraction of the new content that came with Space Academy.

Far from the 'spooky makeover' we were promised, this cash-grab by Two Point Studios just left a sour taste in my mouth. I felt cheated, having been looking forward to sinking another few hours into the game with this new DLC. The content felt rushed, thoughtless, and a little ridiculous. The main foe, as it were, or ghost is 'Lady Lifeless.' Lady Lifeless, really? You couldn't have come up with anything more original than Lady Lifeless? It doesn't feel like they really tried with this one and I'm glad I didn't spend more money on it.

Overall Rating: 2/5

Have you ever felt cheated by a game's DLC?
